Welcome to the Hellmouth
In this episode, Buffy Summers moves to Sunnydale, California, hoping to escape her past in L.A. and also her destiny as the vampire slayer. But, Buffy finds she can't leave her destiny behind, because the librarian, Rupert Giles, is a watcher, one who prepares and trains the Slayer to fight the forces of evil. Besides that, a boy has been murdered by a vampire (Darla), but Buffy still refuses to be the Slayer. Buffy soon meets Angel on her way to the Bronze, and he gives a necklace with a silver cross on it, and warns her about The Harvest, the Master, and also the Hellmouth. When Buffy finally gets to the Bronze, she talks with Willow, and then tells her "to seize the moment." Willow takes this advice, and ends up leaving with a vampire. This is when Buffy finally realizes there is no escape from her destiny, and she goes to find Willow. Finally, at the end of the episode, Buffy fights Darla, Luke, and also the vampire who Willow left with. The episode ends with Luke going in to bite Buffy's neck.

The Harvest
This episode continues where "Welcome to the Hellmouth" left off. Buffy manages to get out of the crypt she and Luke are in, before he is able to bite her, and then leaves to go save Xander, Willow, and their friend Jessie. Buffy manages to save Xander and Willow, but Jessie ends up getting kidnapped. The next day at school, the Scoobies meet in the library, and discuss what happened the night before. Buffy and Giles explain to them that vampires are real, Buffy is the slayer, and that they can't tell anyone. Buffy then leaves to save Jessie, and Giles begins research on the Harvest. When Buffy gets down to the sewers, she soon finds out that Xander had followed her down there. Eventually, the two find Jessie, but when they get trapped in a room in the sewers, Jessie reveales that he has been changed into a vampire. Buffy and Xander manage to get out of the sewers, and get back to the library to tell Willow and Giles what happened. Then, the Scoobies figure out that the Harvest is going to take place at the Bronze. Before Buffy gets there, the vampires have already begun to kill people, and help the Master rise from his mystical prison. Buffy then kills the vampires one by one, and eventually kills Luke, causing the Master to stay trapped. The show ends with Buffy making jokes about getting kicked out of school, and Giles saying that the world is doomed.

The Witch
In this episode, Buffy tries out for cheerleading, but finds that not even simple things like cheerleading don't involve the forces of darkness. While at the try outs the first day, a girl's hands start on fire, so the Scoobies mobilize, and begin research, finding that it wasn't the girl who caused her own hands on fire. Buffy also learns that a girl named Amy is being pressured by her mother to become a cheerleader, and also that Amy's mom was one of the best there ever were at Sunnydale High. After more incidents, of cheerleaders having strange things happening to them, the gang figures out that there is a witch involved, and soon after figure out that it is Amy. Then, being the first alternate, Buffy was then on the team, because many of the girls weren't able to cheer. Soon after though, Amy casts a spell on Buffy that makes her very sick, and brings her close to death. After Giles and Buffy go to Amy's house, they find out that it wasn't Amy casting the spells, but actually her mother, and that Amy's mom had switched bodies with Amy, because she felt Amy was wasting her youth. Finally, at the end of the episode, the two are switched back, the cheerleaders are all back to normal, and Amy's mom gets trapped in a cheerleading trophy, because of her own spell.
