Angel Books
City Of
By Nancy Holder
For Angel, life as a vampire was a constant thrill. Power, danger, cool clothers (never getting old, also a plus). But in the end, it was all about the kill--until he killed the wrong girl.

"Gypsies, in my experience, are heavily into vengeance. They curesed me. Gave me back my soul. I had to live with everything I'd done and I had to live forever. It took another woman to show me that my endless life was worth living."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was Angel's first true love, but the relationship was doomed from the start--a moment of true happiness would cause Angel to lose his soul forever. So he left--Sunnydale, Buffy, and everything else meaningful to him.

"Alive for 244 years, I thought I'd seen everything. Then I came to L.A."

City of Angels. Run by powerful forces, agents of pure evil. It's a city hard on its humans population. If Angel wants to save himself, he's going to have to save them...somehow. With the help of tow unlikely allies--a half-demon and an ex-May Queen--he's going to set up show...

And keep watch over his city.

1. Steve (10) This book was more than just a novelization of the episode "City Of". It also included Angel's history, both good and bad!
Dark Mirror
By Craig Shaw Gardner
In his two-hundred-plus years on Earth, Angel's seen his share of imitators: kindly, misguided people intrigued by the exotic business of being a P.I.: not-so-kindly misguided people drawn to the lure of the undead unlife. But so far he's not encountered a clone- a true double.

Enter Angel the Second. And Fred 2.0. And Wesley Redux...A steady parade of perfect doubles arrives at Angel Investigations, but they're not looking for help. They want the original humans (and vampire) dead. And if Angel, Lorne, and their friends can't band together to figure out where the clones are coming from, a murder spree that starts in their lobby might spread to the entire city. But how do you defeat someone who knows your every thought, your every battle plan, your darkest fear? How can Angel defeat himself?

1. Steve (9.5) Another book I really liked. I really liked the whole evil twin idea. Those they did two evil twin episodes on Buffy, this story is nothing like either of them. The storyline is fast paced, and there isn't a lot of boring exposition. I couldn't exactly figure out where in season 4 this was supposed to take place, so that's the only reason it lost half a point.
